Hunting for Jesus

Hunting for Jesus.

In this blog post, the author states

So the next time any Christian tries to play victim and talk about supposed Christian’s being oppressed by Muslims, be sure to remind them that their millitaries occupy and invade two Muslim countries”

Sorry to say but Christianity has NO MILITARY, unlike the Muslims, who have so many of them that they have to fight each other for power, as well as fight “little” and “big” Satan (aka US and Israel), militaries like al-queda, mujahadin, taliban, etc. Not to mention the fighting between the Sunni, Shi’ite and all the ethnic wars.

Is Muhammad the greatest spiritual leader?

, , , , ,

As a follow-up to the post where I show how Mr. Deedat tries to pull the wool over the eyes of the readers of his writing “Muhammad the greatest”

Here I will point out some of the actions of Muhammad and those of Jesus, and I would like to see how many count Muhammad’s actions greater than those of Jesus.

(I will hopefully, some day have time to post reference links with these facts, but no Muslim would deny these facts, they will merely blindly believe that this was the best way for Muhammad to act)
Also, while researching some of these points, I found that another site has a similar comparison at

Muhammad – Instructed his followers to marry no more than 3 wives at any given time. However, Muhammad was given explicit permission to marry whomever he chose and as many as he saw fit, to include Aisha, a 9 year old girl! Not only did Muhammad marry many more wives than his followers were allowed, but he gave permission for male Muslims to have intercourse with any *slave* woman that “your right hand possesses.

Jesus  – never married, instructed (as the Old Testament did) that a leader in the church should “be the husband of only one wife”. And said the only reason to ever get a divorce was if you were never meant to be married in the first place, as in “incest”, which the OT includes close relations, like your parents siblings (father’s and mother’s sisters), your wife’s sisters, among others, read Leviticus 18, see also Matthew 19

Muhammad – Thru the revelation of the Qur’an instructed his followers to kill his enemies, behead them, or cut off opposing arms and legs (so that they can not fight against the Muslim at a later time), or crucify them. Muhammad also sent an assassin to kill a woman that wrote poetry against the prophet, and this assassin (a blind man, supposedly) came back to Muhammad to report of the kill, that the woman was *sleeping* and had her children with her. To which, the “prophet” replied, “not even a camel will sneeze because of her passing”, meaning nobody cared that this happened, not even “allah”.

Jesus – Instructed His followers to “Love thy enemy”. He rebuke His disciple for attacking one of the soldiers that came to arrest Him and when the disciple cut off this man’s ear, Jesus healed him. And He also warned the dsciple, “Those that live by the sword, will die by the sword”.

I will try to add some more later, but I think we can start to get the picture from these indisputable actions.

Oaths made by God

How many times have you heard someone give an oath and swear on something that they value, like “I swear on my mother’s grave”, or “I swear by my kids”.

The Book of James tells believers not to swear oaths, but to speak the truth, and let your yes be yes, and your no be no.

James 5:12
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes,” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.

In many places in the Old Testament, God swore oaths, and when He does so, there is nothing greater than Himself that He can swear to, we read this explanation in Hebrews

Hebrews 6:13
When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

Here we find several examples of what this passage is referring to;

Genesis 22:16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,

Jeremiah 22:5 But if you do not obey these commands, declares the LORD, I swear by myself that this palace will become a ruin.’ ”

Jeremiah 49:13 I swear by myself,” declares the LORD, “that Bozrah will become a ruin and an object of horror, of reproach and of cursing; and all its towns will be in ruins forever.”

Jeremiah 44:26 But hear the word of the LORD, all Jews living in Egypt: ‘I swear by my great name,’ says the LORD, ‘that no one from Judah living anywhere in Egypt will ever again invoke my name or swear, “As surely as the Sovereign LORD lives.”

Jeremiah 51:14 The LORD Almighty has sworn by himself: I will surely fill you with men, as with a swarm of locusts, and they will shout in triumph over you.

It is my belief that there are too many discrepencies between the Yhwh of the Bible and the Allah of the Qur’an

One such difference is the oaths that Allah takes, versus those above made by Yhwh.

surah 51
1. By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast;
2. And those that lift and bear away heavy weights;
3. And those that flow with ease and gentleness;
4. And those that distribute and apportion by Command;-
5. Verily that which ye are promised is true;
6. And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass.
7. By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths,
8. Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant,

Muhammad the greatest …

In a paper titled “Muhammad the greatest”, Dr. Ahmad Deedat attempts to convince the reader that the prophet of Islam, Muhammad, is the greatest of all prophets and by extension the greatest person to ever walk the face of the earth, and utilizes criteria that he gathers from the alleged “prophecies” given by Muhammad. Isn’t that like asking the chef of a restaurant to give a review of his own food?

The following quote of the Qur’an is taken directly from the above mentioned paper.

And Most Certainly, Thou (O Muhammad) Are of most sublime And Exalted Character. Qur’an 68:4

Doesn’t it seem odd how in order to be a good, obedient and believing Muslim that you must believe these revelations are from Allah and contain the truth, and anyone that disagrees with Muhammad (or would that be Allah) deserves to be punished. Again, it’s akin to a chef being able to cut out people tongues (or opposing hand and foot, in Muhammad’s case) if they say they don’t like his food, because it was revealed to the chef that the owner of the restaurant gave him permission to do so.

However, I would like to point out Mr. Deedat’s zeal in dealing with all things Islam, and his methodology of twisting anything and everything to support his theories.

In his zeal to propagate a belief that non-believers portray his prophet in favor, Mr. Deedat shortens the title of his referenced book to simply “the Greatest”.

In actuality, the book, written by Michael H. Hart, is called “A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons”.  Personally, I don’t mind the linking of Muhammad with the likes of (in no particular order) Genghis Kahn, Julius Caesar, Karl Marx (founder of Communism), as well as Joseph Stalin, and Lenin, one has to wonder what the motivation was in Mr. Deedat pointing out Muhammad’s inclusion in this list.

With other names such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, and George Washington nothing negative can be said for inclusion in such a list, however, nobody can doubt why Mr. Deedat deceives his reader into believing this list is simply “the Greatest” and nothing more.

As we see from the first set of names above, just being “influential” is not necessarily a positive thing. In my next post about this subject, I will compare some of Muhammad’s actions with those of Jesus.
